Engineering at University of Surrey
I am a software engineer with a background in Chemical Engineering, driven by a passion for solving complex, real-world problems through technology. My journey into software development began through self-directed learning in Python and Android development, and has since evolved into a strong focus on backend engineering using Java and Spring Boot. I have experience building full-stack applications, including designing and developing RESTful APIs, working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, and deploying containerised applications using Docker and AWS. One of my key projects involved architecting a backend service that aggregates and normalises data from multiple external APIs, implementing efficient search, filtering, and pagination to support scalable data access. Alongside backend development, I have built Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, giving me a well-rounded understanding of client–server architecture and user-focused design. I place a strong emphasis on writing clean, maintainable code and applying best practices such as Test-Driven Development using JUnit and Mockito. Through my experience in both software and engineering environments, I bring strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset. I enjoy working in team settings, engaging in technical discussions, and continuously improving my skills. I am particularly interested in backend and distributed systems, with a growing focus on building scalable, high-performance applications that deliver meaningful impact to users.
