Computer Science at The University of Kent
I’m a Software Engineering graduate (BSc 2:1) from the University of Kent with a year of industry experience, passionate about building reliable, real-world systems that solve meaningful problems. I enjoy working across the full development lifecycle, from understanding user and business requirements through to designing, building, testing and improving production code. During my placement year as a Data & Business Intelligence Analyst, I worked closely with non-technical stakeholders to turn complex requirements into scalable, data-driven solutions. I built automated tools and dashboards using SQL and Power BI, improved efficiency by removing manual processes, and learned how well-designed systems can directly support decision-making and operations. Technically, I have a strong foundation in object-oriented programming, data structures, and problem-solving, with experience in Java, Python, C#, SQL and JavaScript. I’m comfortable learning new technologies quickly and enjoy understanding how systems work end-to-end, particularly in environments where reliability, performance and security matter. I’m looking for a graduate role in a fast-growing, collaborative technology company where I can take ownership early, learn from experienced engineers, and contribute to products that have real impact. I’m especially interested in fintech and technology-driven businesses where software plays a critical role in enabling better outcomes for users.
