Software Engineer and Systems Designer with over 17 years of commercial experience designing, building, deploying, and supporting business-critical software solutions. My experience spans SaaS platforms, ecommerce systems, workflow automation, healthcare data applications, and API-driven integrations, delivering solutions from initial concept through to production and ongoing operational support. As the founder of a web development consultancy, I have led the end-to-end delivery of software projects across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and third-party integrations. Recent projects include a SaaS email marketing and funnel automation platform, a healthcare data and analytics solution, bespoke ecommerce platforms, and workflow management applications. I work comfortably across the full technology stack and enjoy translating complex business requirements into scalable, maintainable software solutions. My technical experience includes Python (Django), JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Docker, Redis, Celery, Linux, REST APIs, and cloud-hosted environments. I have extensive experience designing database-driven applications, implementing background processing and automation, integrating payment gateways and external services, and supporting production systems throughout their lifecycle. I have also delivered bespoke Shopify solutions, extending platform capabilities through custom theme and component development. Prior to moving fully into software engineering, I worked within the NHS supporting national prescription reimbursement systems and leading operational teams responsible for critical healthcare datasets. This experience provided a strong foundation in regulated environments, service delivery, stakeholder engagement, data integrity, and business process improvement. Alongside my commercial work, I am completing a BSc in Computer Science (Web and Mobile Development), expected September 2026, further strengthening my practical experience with formal academic study in software engineering, agile delivery, and modern development practices. I am particularly interested in opportunities that combine software engineering, systems design, technical delivery, and emerging AI-assisted development practices, where I can contribute immediately while continuing to develop as part of a collaborative engineering team.
