Architecture & Construction at Lancaster University

I believe that too often architecture unknowingly neglects the needs of the people that it sets to enrich. I have the desire to better the architectural environment aesthetically and sustainably. I am especially interested in the science behind aesthetics and how and why exactly particular buildings appeal to the human mind. Not just in the way certain facades can be considered beautiful but how particular rhythms that appear in a building (the way that forms relate to one another and the human scale) can effect our moods and movements within them. Having the ability to see how theses factors are considered practically will enable me to gain a greater understanding of the implementation of architectural theory in practice.
